The season long points series gets underway this Sunday with the Thirst Mutilator Fat Bike Race at Timber Ridge!
The course is set up and with a few inches of fresh snow this week, it took a solid effort to make sure it was ridden in. The circuit is flat, fast and is punctuated each lap with a technical section that leads back to the start/finish. Conditions couldn't be better, with cold weather forecasted right up to a warmer race day.
The start list is looking solid, with Jorden Wakeley riding as the favorite in the Men's race. He'll be up against Einstein Racing's Jason Lowetz, Justin Morris, the Brothers Kushman, and a slew of other contenders also on the line.
The Women's race will feature Susan Vigland and Kim Thomas, with Beth Collins looking solid to establish herself in the Master's class as the season gets going.
The race begins at high noon at Timber Ridge, where nearly the whole rental fleet of Salsa Mukluks will be in use. The field could eclipse the 100 racer mark, with day-of registration, which is open 10-11.45am on Sunday. Online registration closes at 8pm on Friday, December 19.
With the race expected to have a lot of racers, it could play a big role in deciding the series champion once they're crowned in March. The more racers, the more points, and the big turnout looks to cement Thirst Mutilator as a can't miss start for anyone with dreams of glory.
Registration is open until 8pm on Friday, December 19. You can sign up here! And don't forget, for every race you enter, you're in the raffle for a 2015 Salsa Mukluk 3, and everyone who enters for the full series gets double the chance to win. That's like putting a thick layer of fun-frosting on a good-times cake! Full series registration is here.
